MLAW Engineers works closely with its sister company, MLA Labs, Inc., the premier leader in Central Texas soils expertise. MLA Labs, Inc. has drilled over 150,000 borings in Central Texas, providing 51 years of data on the most expansive and highest risk soils in the nation! MLA Labs, Inc. offers a full range of construction materials testing, residential lot fill testing (79 G), soils analysis, and geotechnical services. MLAW Engineers has daily access to all soils test results, without the delays many firms experience using outside labs. This seamless integration of soils and structural engineering ensures that each site will be properly examined, soil testing will be performed, and a site-specific design will be produced on each project. This also enables MLAW Engineers to produce foundation designs quickly, providing our clients with the best lead times in the industry.

MLAW Energy offers home energy rating and auditing services for builders, general contractors, architects, and individuals, in addition to commercial and industrial energy optimization audits. Whether you use the Energy Star, Environments for Living, HERS (Home Energy Rating Systems) Rating programs, or just require code compliance, MLAW Energy can take care of your energy rating needs.

MLAW Forensics provides forensics services including expert witness testimony. MLAW Forensics evaluates existing structures that display various levels of distress. When necessary, MLAW Forensics can testify as expert witnesses as to what went wrong, who was responsible, and what is needed to make it right.

MLAW's structural engineers have authored nationally accepted design manuals, including the Wire Reinforcement Institute’s (WRI) Design of Slab-On-Ground Foundations, the Post-Tensioning Institute’s (PTI) Design of Post-Tensioned Foundations, in addition to definitive works like Soils, Earthwork, and Foundations: A Practical Approach, by Kirby T. Meyer, P.E., published by the International Code Council (ICC).

MLAW's engineers and design team have produced over 400,000 foundations for over $82.7 billion worth of residential and commercial projects. Current technologies, such as computer-aided design (CAD) capabilities, enable transmission of test results and plans to any customer around the globe.

MLAW’s program of services can help builders, architects, general contractors, and other construction professionals better coordinate the various phases of a typical construction project. This synergy of services can increase the flow of information, save time, and eliminate confusion, resulting in a more effective use of materials and mitigation of potential warranty related issues.

If you have already had your project designed, and are seeking a second opinion, MLAW Engineers can review those plans with value engineering in mind.

With a single phone call, you can connect with an MLAW team member who will spearhead your project. MLAW Engineers work with you, from concept to completion.

Our job is to put your project on a solid foundation, and our customers will tell you that we’re the best in the business.
